Hand hygiene for young and old in hospitals and care homes

Covid-19 emphasized the importance of hand hygiene. However, there are areas where hand washing has never been trivial. Examples here are hospitals and other care homes. When a nurse works in a Covid unit, with no risk of Covid-infections (as patients are already infected), they can still carry other diseases or germs. It is therefore vital to avoid transmitting these diseases to patients.

If handwashing becomes a game, children will be less likely to introduce viruses and bacteria into the rooms.

Nursing homes are also places where extreme caution must be exercised. A small illness or infection for a healthy person can very quickly turn into something more serious for a fragile or elderly person. Washing or disinfecting hands is therefore of utmost importance for the nursing staff, in contact with these residents.

And not only the staff: children who visit their grandparents do not always wash their hands properly. By making handwashing a game, with the goal of reach a score of 100% or a green smiley, these children will try to was their hands as good as they can and therefore are less likely to introduce viruses and bacteria into the rooms.

With the Soapy Micro Hygiene Station, it is easier to wash hands properly. Sensors in the station scan the hands, and analyse in real-time the movements made during washing. In addition, the device measures the temperature of the user, allowing to check the user does not develop (Covid-19) symptoms during the the day.
